Meet The Team
Well...you can't really "meet" us on this website. But here's a little about some of the people on our team.
As an Apache helicopter pilot, I focused on protecting from above the ground. Now that I'm with Oropala, my attention is focused on protecting what is buried beneath the ground. I am a recovering Californian happily married with two young boys in Texas. My Californian friends tease me when I says, “y’all” and my Texas friends tease me when I says, “gnarly, awesome and rad.
To say I like to talk would be an understatement, so it's only fitting they let me talk to our customers on a daily basis. Keeping people in the "know" on Gold Shovel Standard is my jam! When I am not at the beach, I am on a baseball field. I have one son who is off to college next year and lucky for me, I get to continue to watch him play baseball. Love diet coke, friends and family and the PACKERS!
After great adventures under the sea on submarines, underground facilities now have my attention. When I am not out trying to make the world of excavation better, you can find me riding my bike, swimming, and running ridiculous distances, and spending time with family, to make myself better. And yes, you could say this crazy pursuit of a healthy lifestyle makes the Friday morning donuts off-limits and qualifies me as a “kale hound.” I have a soft spot in my heart for rescuing labrador retrievers, Wisconsin athletics, and generally people from the midwest. Don’t cha’ know.
My life is Oropala. I live it, breathe it, eat it. It will probably kill me, but it will be a life well lived … because Oropala. All kidding aside, I enjoy working for software companies and love making a difference, and this job allows me to do both. On a more personal note, my family likes to travel (or take short getaways), as well as spend time with friends and family, so my kids are completely skewed in their life expectations and frequently ask us, “Are we doing anything fun tonight?” In addition, I waffle back and forth between posing as a surfer and actually being a surfer when I can find time to get in the water.
I believe that you always put yourself in someone else's shoes and treat them like you'd like to be treated. Speaking of shoes, I have declared that every Thursday is "Shoes Day.” Customer advocate by day and activist for Saving the Bees by night. I've developed a tee shirt line to preserving the bees and serve as a board member for an organization that helps disadvantaged individuals help themselves. Things I love: my daughter, my fiancé, my chocolate lab, cocker spaniel and poodle (large, medium and small, love variety) traveling, American History, the great outdoors and Washington Redskins (makes me a stronger person to deal with so much heartache).
What matters to me is that Oropala contribute to making a difference, that we do things the right way and enjoy ourselves as we go. Things I love: my wife, the Oropala team, the work we get to do, my labrador retrievers, snowboarding, elk hunting and Weiner dog races. And UCLA football
After almost 30 years in the tech world - all of those in customer-facing roles - I remain passionate about providing experiences and products that add daily value to users...and hopefully delight them in the process. As part of the Oropala team I am lucky to collaborate with like-minded people as we attempt to make the world a better place for our customers. In my free time I thrive on seeking adventures with my wonderful wife and our two young sons. We can frequently be found outdoors attempting to stay out of trouble on the trails, slopes, mountains, rivers and lakes around Idaho, where we call home.
